I wasnt exactly sure about the complete synopsis of Universal Pictures’ One Night Only, but when TikTok extended an invitation to the advanced screening, I had to check it out because I knew it would be a unique experience.
I arrived at the screening in a pink floral metallic dress, chic with a criss-cross design in the back that’s much more fun than the front of the dress.
One Night Only is about a fictional world where premarital sex is illegal, yet the law is removed for one night each year. The rom-com takes us through Allie (Monica Barbaro) and Owen’s (Callum Turner) adventure of trying to find a partner for the night, where their immense desperation even led them to do heinous acts to find a condom.
When the average New Yorker drops anything in a sewer, it’s basically considered lost forever. Allie and Owen’s desperation to take advantage of the night as the countdown continues led them to dig in the sewer for the condom, as they almost lost it while trying to flip for it to determine who’s going to keep the condom to use with their partners for the night.
My flabbers were gastered.
The after-party was so much fun, featuring activations from the movie, such as the Claremont Pizza Shop, the mannequin that held that last condom, and more. Guests made confessions about their dating life in a confessional booth, played pool, ate pizza, and enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres,
