What I Learned From Hosting The Creator Logic NYC Holiday Party 2024

I probably wouldn’t believe you if you told me I’d be co-hosting a holiday event in 2024. I’m so grateful to have been able to organize and produce the Creator Logic NYC Holiday Party! Created by Avi Gandhi, Creator Logic is the premiere resource for those working in influencer marketing as well as influencers/creators. Although I’m not new to events, I spent some time isolated and started getting back to the real me late last year. I’ve been working in marketing for about 7 years and during my pre-marketing days, I organized events as a Program Director for organizations. I’m not new to this but when you finally get back to doing the things you enjoy after taking a break from it all, nothing feels sweeter than being on the right track.

My passion for the creator economy stems from being creative my entire life. I’ve always been great at making something out of nothing by finding ways of making experiences feel special. For me, everything has to feel special. From crocheting to making earrings, what I wear, how I eat, and working out consistently. Even my shower routine feels special daily. Everything is an experience even down to how I layer fragrances daily. Because I make everything an experience in my own life, I enjoy being intentional about the experiences I curate for others.

I naturally gravitate towards creatives and don’t believe that the term “starving artist” should exist. Creatives should be able to thrive while utilizing the gifts God gave them. When I had an opportunity to host an event for creatives and industry professionals, I said yes because I love the creator economy too much for me not to move forward with the opportunity. How could I say no to bringing creatives and influencer marketing reps in one room to connect, share ideas, and have an evening of enjoyment?

Co-Hosting the Creator Logic NYC Holiday Party helped me learn that:

People will help you if you simply ask. A week before the event, I was chatting about it with Jacob Wallach and told him I’m going to need help with check-ins at the event but there’s no budget for it. He simply told me, “Just ask. There are people who would be willing to help.” I took his advice and did just that, When I announced that I needed help for the event, Selena Beaumont immediately told me she would love to help, followed by Akash Antony. The morning of the event, Sara Celotto asked if I still needed help and she arrived about 15 mins before the event started in case any extra help may be needed. What a blessing from God!

People help those who help themselves. Help comes to those who are favored but in order to be favored, you need to put in the effort to make things happen.

Make banana bread 2 days before the event. We planned to have light bites from the venue flowing for the duration of the event but because we didn’t get the budget for food as planned, I made banana bread. Its only right that the guests get to taste the best healthy banana bread in the world! My recipe is unmatched. I definitely shouldn’t have made it the night before because I was baking and bagging up the treats until 6 am.

Dress codes should be encouraged. I love curating multi-sensory experiences where you like what you see, eat, feel, smell, etc. There’s nothing like looking into a crowd of people and everyone is dressed in a specific dress code. The dress code was cocktail attire because I really love when everyone dresses incredibly well. Seeing a room full of people in cocktail dresses, full glam, blazers, and shoes gets me excited so I created a holiday lookbook for all my girlies that need a little inspo as they attend holiday parties. Moving forward, I’ll continue to encourage dress codes.

I actually didn’t know what I was going to wear to the celebration until the day of the event and ended up wearing a long red full skirt with a pink long-sleeve floral crop top. It was perfect!

I’m so grateful to God for all the attendees and supporters. Huge thanks to B&H for providing the giveaway prize for our guests which included a Shure MV88+ Video Kit, Garmin Tripod, B&H Wire Organizer which is perfect for travel, and several other items perfect for the creator on the go.

The support was incredible and I’m immensely grateful.

To be able to create is a gift. It’s not easy to put something good and preventable on the paper like artists do, likewise it’s not an thing to organize an event. To be able to do either and come out beautiful is the gift of God. It doesn’t look like your first after a while, it looks as if you’re made for it. I love that your beautiful long dress, you are gorgeous. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Thanks Oyin
