Resources For The Los Angeles Fires

Los Angeles is known to experience fires and earthquakes, but the Pacific Palisades fire is a disaster that the residents have never seen before. What started in Pacific Palisades and was expected to move toward the beach has done the unexpected and drove east right after the fire spread north to Topanga Canyon and west to Malibu. Expanding to more than 17,200 acres, the Palisades fire left thousands of people displaced from their homes. What makes this so devastating is there are multiple fires taking place in different parts of Los Angeles. The Sunset fire in West Hollywood expanded to Hollywood Hills and the Hurst fire originated in Sylmar. The Eaton fire greatly impacted the Altadena residents with more than 10,600 acres burned and is currently moving towards Mount Wilson. The Los Angeles Fire Department have been working tirelessly jumping in and out of burning homes so please donate to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. If you are affected by the Los Angeles fires, here are resources for those who are in need of shelter, meals, and transportation.

Housing & Shelters

Air Bnb is partnering with 211LA to offer free stays for residents who lost their homes. You can also donate and 100% of the proceeds goes to housing those who are displaced from their homes.

Gina Zapanta and Mike Alder booked hotel rooms in Sherman Oaks and are offering them to those in need. They initially offered it to anyone who was impacted by the fires, but due to the large response they received, they’re currently only offering it to families with minors. They’re also offering shelter at their law offices in Sherman Oaks & Montebello. Send Gina and/or Mike a dm if you are in need. If able, feel free to donate whatever you can to help them get more hotel rooms for those in need. Donations don’t have to be monetary. You can also donate food or bottles of water.
