I can’t think of a better way to kick off New York Fashion Week than hanging with B&H Creators by B&H Photos and learning to capture fashion with Canon. I grew up watching YouTube and noticed that a lot of my faves used Canon cameras for their content. Although I found that interesting, I still never cared to use a Canon camera. Once I created my YouTube channel, I began filming with my Nikon D5500. I’ve only created with Nikons and played around a bit with Sonys so it was such a treat to really get to use a Canon camera for the first time.
I’m more of a Nikon girl. I’ve had Nikon DSLRs for years but I was certainly impressed by the Canon EOS R10 images that were shot within the heart of Soho during the afternoon workshop and the evening mixer.
I caught up with Deanna Testa who I’m so very proud of! As the Head of Creator Marketing at B&H, Deanna has cultivated a space that attracts creators of all platform sizes from various niches to learn how they can utilize gadgets from B&H to take their content up a notch. It’s refreshing to see a company that’s been located on 9th avenue in Manhattan since 1973 begin to open up to the idea of building an electrifying community of creators. Creatives were able to test out various Canon cameras with Samsung memory cards.
Most times, I don’t feel like carrying my DSLR with me so attending an event where I get to document my look without carrying my heavy Nikon is such a bonus for me. I get to head out with my new Samsung memory card and carry on with my day.
I also got to chat with Ali Alvarez who is not only a creator but she runs the newsletter, AliSays, that provides resources for creators.
For my makeup, I stuck to my signature look which is a blank eyelid with a colored bottom lash line. Hot pink was the choice for the day.
I didn’t even know that Samsung retails memory cards. As a lover of Samsung phones, when I think of Samsung, I immediately think of tablets, phones, and laptops (not camera equipment). The following images were shot in my Samsung Galaxy Ultra 24. Although the camera is not as good as a Canon or a Nikon, I do love the attention to detail that it provides. Not bad for a phone.
I had such a great time and look forward to the next B&H Creators event.
Although I couldn’t find similar items to my look for you, you can check out other pink styles on Befitting Style.
How do you prefer capturing your content?
Love Love Love your top. Polka dot is my favorite. The pictures from your Samsung phone are not bad at all, they are Sharp and one might think they are from the real camera. I never own real camera, I always use phone camera and the disposable camera. Thanks Oyin for the insight.
