To brunch or not to brunch while still keeping safe in quarantine is quite a decision. I had brunch at Jue Lan because my friend recommended it and my first time back at brunch had to be at an upscale black-owned restaurant. I think its still important to quarantine and deciding whether you should partake in brunch is highly dependent on your location. In some cities, its perfectly fine to brunch (as long as you have your mask on of course), while other cities are experiencing a tighter shutdown with increasing numbers of those testing positive for the virus. I’m choosing to brunch but only with those who have been in quarantine. Its only right that I whip out a pink dress for my first brunch out after quarantine.
This dress is special to me because I couldn’t fit it when I initially bought it. I was in a different place in my life, 20 pounds heavier and unhappy. I spoke about that time in this video and I’m grateful to be in a better place.
Brunch is my favorite thing to do so to be back in the game while wearing pink at a perfectly pink location provided the perfect vibe that I needed.
I consumed seafood, veggie rolls, even had a bit of dessert (I know its shocking!) all while sipping on sparkling water. Everything was delicious!
It was my first time having brunch at Jue Lan so I wanted to try a bit of everything.
I wore this dress backwards because the v-neckline looks better on the front than the back.
The layering at the bottom of the dress flowed perfectly in the wind.
Pairing it with pink heels and Zac Posen bag was a no-brainer. I knew I had to monochrome to get my perfect pink fix.
I couldn’t end this post without mentioning how amazing my red box braid bob looks with this pink dress. They’re a perfect match!
