I love to improvise and look for other ways to wear pieces that I already own. I have an idea of what I’m wearing for the most of this season of NYFW but Day 1 left me stumped. So I reached for an old skirt from college and instantly envisioned it being a top. This is how I ended up wearing my skirt as a top.
I honestly don’t remember owning this top (talkless of even wearing it) but I found it when I reorganized my clothes during the beginning of this year and realized that even though it’s a high low skirt (loved high low skirts in college), it can definitely come in handy as a top.
Pre-NYFW was pretty hectic for me so I needed a quick hairstyle. I opted for a high braided ponytail because it’s one of the quickest hairstyles to achieve.
I paired the top with high waist khaki-like shorts.
It rained on and off throughout the day. With the Harlem Fashion Row Awards and Fashion Show being held during the evening, the rain was quite a challenge while heading to the event but we pulled through.
Sticking to my shades of brown, I wore taupe open toe sandals with a fringe straw bag.
How do you improvise with your clothes?
