The first Monday in May is the most important day in fashion and every year I get so excited to see what everyone is wearing to the oh-so coveted Met Gala! As celebrities like Beyonce and Gigi Hadid have millions of followers on Instagram, so many people will be able to see what they’re wearing to this event. If I went, for example, there wouldn’t be the same amount of interest. With that being said, there are sites like upleap that give people the option of growing followers, so this may be an option. Anyway, one can only dream!
The theme for this year’s Met Gala is “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. As a believer of Christ, this theme didn’t sit well with me as I’m not too fond of mixing fashion with religion, yet I still tuned in (to the internet) to see who wore what so without further ado, here are my picks for the top 10 best dressed at the 2018 Met Gala.
For My Best and Worst Dressed Picks, take a peek at the video below.
ADUTAKECH | Valentino Haute Couture SS18
My favorite look is Adutakech in Valentino! This beautiful model stunned in a Valentino Haute Couture SS 18 gown designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli. The best part is she wore simple cornrows with the look which is pretty unconventional for the Met Gala. I love how it seems like she stuck to what she knows and rocked it effortlessly.
YARA SHAHIDI | Chanel Couture SS18
GABRIELLE UNION | Prabal Gurung
ASHLEY GRAHAM | Prabal Gurung
JASMINE SANDERS | H & M
GIGI HADID | VERSACE
ZENDAYA | Versace
BLAKE LIVELY | Versace
ALEK WEK | H&M
KERRY WASHINGTON | Ralph Lauren

This year met gala’s theme is a little crazy. Mixing Christianity with arts when people don’t want to hear the word JESUS CHRIST. You can mention other little gods but not Jesus. How can dress like Pope when you are not ordained to do so. How can put an alter on your head when the people that touched it died from doing so. I don’t want to say anything anymore because it is really annoying. God bless you Oyin. Amen
