I have a thing for turbans and as a Nigerian, we wear geles made of several fabrics for special occasions. When I decided to wear this shirt dress, I knew I wanted to wear it with a turban. I prefer wearing turbans sometimes because its easier to throw on and its super simple. You may catch me on my snapchat (@queenoyinkan) wearing a turban at least a couple times a week.
The white button down portion of the dress is attached to the blue portion. I usually like to buy these pieces separately and mix and match as I wish but I made an exception for this particular dress. I spotted it during the spring and knew I had to have it immediately. Because I purchased this dress during the early spring, its no longer available but I’ll be sure to link similar items that can help you achieve this look.

I always love wearing blue because of the way it brings out my skin tone.
This look is perfect for the office as well as indulging in happy hour with friends.
I accessorized with silver metallic Kate Spade heels (which I’ve worn many times over the past year) as well as a gray Vince Camuto bag. Continuing with the gray theme, my gray embellished necklace perfectly brought the whole look to life. It’s interesting what a necklace can do to an outfit because prior to wearing the necklace, the look was a little plain. I’ve seen some beautiful necklaces on websites like JACOBSTHEJEWELLERS.COM so if you want to check them out, order your jewellery today at the Jacobs The Jeweller.
As a kid, I wasn’t too fond of blue but I have grown to embrace the color.
