Should You Start Putting Your Bright Clothes Away?

Every year around the month of July, fall clothes slowing creep into the stores and Christmas and other cool weather holiday decorations are displayed. Some people even begin dressing like fall by August. Should you start putting your bright clothes away? Of course not! Anyone can wear what they want but this time of the year always bothers me a bit. I’m not sure if it’s because I love bright clothes so much and I believe that you can wear bright clothes all year round, but it seems like people itch to take their bright clothes off and swap them for olive and brown tones. But don’t get me wrong, I love wearing some Board It branded clothes!.

With fashion/style blogging, you either talk about current styles or whats to come. So in that sense, I can understand writing about sweaters and jackets but to actually wear jackets on your day to day during the summer just doesn’t add up to me. Then again, who am I to talk when I wear shorts during the winter?! LOL.

The only reason this bothers me is that it seems like bright clothes tend to be pushed to the side so quickly. With fall/winter clothes being displayed during July, and summer beginning at the end of June, it seems like we only get one month of true summer bliss. I include browns and olive tones in my lookbooks because I know it’s what you guys love for fall but I honestly would wear any color at any time of the year, opting for browns in the summer and pink during the winter. Not focusing on whether society associates these colors with specific seasons but just because it’s looks good. I love shopping for the different seasons! My friend found a deal at Target so she managed to get some clothes really cheap! Shopping doesn’t have to be expensive, find coupons and you can get some great pieces to add to your collection.

In other news, I tried a new lippie with this look and will be posting about it tomorrow.

Its easy to gravitate towards something because that’s what you’re surrounded by (social media, stores etc) but summer ends at the end of September so I challenge you to still incorporate a few bright pieces into your looks 😉 .

I look forward to creating new looks that will show you how to wear bright colors during the fall and winter.

Do you rush the fall?

  9. Love the shoes and the necklace! After I had my big girl, I gained some weight and got a little discouraged with dressing cute. I don’t have much to lose, but it’s an obvious amount. But, I’m ready to get back into my cute clothes and accessorize!

    1. Yes totally understand. Get back to it boo!

  10. I agree Oyinkan! Let the bright continue to shine. I love Fall but I still like to sneak a few pops of bright into my looks even when the summer months have faded away.

    1. Yesssss sneak them in all year round!

  11. I tend to put up bright colours over the fall, but it isn’t exactly because I “should”. As a beauty and nail blogger, I wear so much bright things over the summer because that’s what everyone wants that by the time fall rolls around, I’m ready for the change to darker, more vampy shades.

    1. Yeah in that case, I totally understand. Probably need a break from brights so I get it.

  12. You look so amazing in bright colours, I have to admit I never wear bright colours I sort of stick to the same colour scheme all year around.

    1. It’s all good! That’s your personal style 🙂

  13. I love this outfit! You look so pretty. I’d never put bright colors away but I never care what’s in style. I wear what I like, not caring what the latest trend is.

  15. These bright colors are great fr day to day living here in Los Angel;es and fall is weeks and weeks away. We have hit 101 the past two days. I love the earrings and necklaces. The purse color and length of the strap are perfect, plus the funky shoes – fits right in this hipster area I am in. I like the pants for the gym too. I was shopping today for pajama shorts and the only size they had was XXL.

I see the lipstick matches the bra – that is styling all around with the coordination of colors.

I have a neon green weighted hula hoop I bring to the gym and like to have a matching shirt.
I also wear shorts in the winter.

    1. Wow 101 degrees! I don’t think NY has experienced that this summer.
I like hipster neighborhoods. They tend to be really chill and fun 🙂

  16. I couldn’t agree more… I adore colors, even if it’s a pop of color. I’m never ready for summer to end and for the pretty colors to go away. I can appreciate fall’s more neutral colors, but I still want a pop of color in there to brighten my day 🙂

    1. Yessss throw on that pop of color! Brighten your day 🙂

  25. We don’t have Winter here in Vietnam but let me tell you how critical people are when you wear bright color clothes outside when it is not Lunar New Year. It is so funny how poeple think bright colors are too much for this world, I think not. Your outfit is amazing to me and if we ever have a chance to meet, you will surely be one my favorite people to be around with.

    1. AWWWWWW thank you sooo very much! I think it’s cool that you guys don’t have winter. Who needs winter anyway LOL!
