I’ve been spending some time having fun on Tik Tok so when a recreate challenge was created, I knew I had to participate especially since I’ve been wanting to recreate some iconic looks! Most people recreated album covers as the challenge is originally called #albumcoverchallenge but I decided to give the challenge a little twist by recreating Rihanna’s sequin look worn to the CFDA Awards in 2017. As a lover of sequins, it was befitting for me to choose this look. Take a peek at the video below for a full breakdown of the hair, makeup and style for this look.
If you’re not new to Befitting Style, then you possibly remember when I went to a 1920s themed holiday party during December 2018. This look was clearly inspired by that era so its only right that I whipped out the same wig for this look.
In the video above, you’ll see that this wig was quite a task to handle as it was my second time wearing it. I learned that its pretty hard to pin wigs down (I clearly don’t have enough experience with wigs).
I did the best I could with this smokey eye! It’s always been a difficult makeup look for me.
Instead of a sequin dress, I wore a gray Zara slip dress. It’s simple, yet still fits the aesthetic of Rihanna’s CFDA Awards look. I’d also rather save some of my silver sequins for once I get to enjoys the outdoors after quarantine.
I purchased the faux fur from Amazon for the Holiday party that I mentioned earlier. It definitely came in handy for this look!
