Katty Xiomara SS17 | NYFW

Katty Xiomara aimed to please and succeeded at it. The Portugal based designer has accomplished much more than designing as her skills have been used in other forms of art such as theater, dance and music. The Katty Xiomara SS17 collection featured fishscale effect fabric in maxi dresses as well as other netting fabric in light coral tones. Sporting high buns and gelled down bangs along with orange eyebrows complimented the look, especially the netting detail in the shoes.

Red was incorporated in a chic sailor like style.

These pastel blues were styled perfectly as stripes and solids were in the mix.

The smallest details matter most. The netting of this fabric with the coral accents makes this look seamlessly fit into the collection.

The poncho-like coat makes me want to wear a coat and I don’t really wear coats. I love when a designer can mix different fabrics as she mixed net, lace and cotton in these looks.

You can never go wrong with netted and laced dresses and tops. They’re classics that never go out of style.

Last but not least, the sequins. I am a sequin lover so I automatically love these pieces.

What do you think?

  1. I think Katty Xiomara design is mostly for the youth. You have to feel it , to want it. The pieces are beautiful done especially the sequins dresses. I like lace combined with sequins, that is really flamboyant. Thank you Oyin for all the beautiful dresses that you made our eyes to see in this NYFWW. I love majority of the dresses. God bless you Oyin. Amen.
