Summer is on the way and theres nothing like a short black and blue A-line skirt to commemorate the season. I don’t wear dark colors often so when I do, you know it has to be worn right. Although I’m not that fond of the color blue, I tend to wear quite a bit of blue due to the way it compliments my dark skin tone. I believe that despite one’s personal favorite colors, being open minded to the colors that compliments the skin tone can not only help you understand which colors favor you but also expose you to a wider variety of style outside of your favorite colors.
I absolutely love this top as a button down shirt is one of my staples, therefore being a comfort zone of mine. If you know me by now, then you know that the color blocking of the shirt is another feature that I am absolutely in love with.
The blue-black-teal colors compliments the skirt perfectly. With the teal being at the end of the shirt, it provides a great transition into the skirt.
Not only am I in love with the structure of the skirt but also the blue zipper detailing at the bottom of the skirt.
I purchased this bag about 6 months ago and can’t wait to continue pairing it with more looks in the near future as it fuels my love for fringe.
I literally threw on these pieces in 5-7 minutes as I attended several events this past weekend. As I grabbed my black-blue sandals, I was a bit afraid of wearing yet another black and blue piece (as if I haven’t worn enough already) but it actually worked out fine. Instead of looking too “matchy matchy”, the sandals complimented the look.

How do you style an A-line skirt?
Well I don’t have a line skirt because I assume it will make me look bigger. All the colors on the dresses that you are wearing complement each other. The irony of it all is that it brings out your skin tone. Can I say that blue is now the new pink. That particular shade of blue is sweet and beautiful. The dress is not marchy marchy attached all but gorgeous, beautiful and marticulate. BRAVISMO. God bless you Oyin.
