Golden Sequins by Nene LA Shiro

Whipping out an oldie but goodie is always fun! Nene LA Shiro custom made this golden sequins gown for me for my Senior Ball 6 years ago. With sequin being my favorite fabric, I feel like a golden queen with this dress on! If you want to see it in action, check out the video in the post about black owned fashion brands to support.

I’ve definitely worn some questionable items a few years ago by pairing some items together that don’t even belong together. The beautiful thing about life is growing and evolving. What I love most about this dress is that it’s a classic piece. I don’t think I’ll get tired of it 10-15 years from now.

Although I don’t really wear it (same way I don’t wear my prom or graduation dresses), it means so much to me. This dress symbolizes my freedom from college (I was tired of it during my 5th and final year) and entering into the real world of creating my own structure of what I want my life to be.

The bold hue is exactly how I felt: golden.

It feels like I’ve been in quarantine for the longest but I’m enjoying every minute of it through learning, growing and playing in fashion and beauty.

How is quarantine going for you?
