Vivica A Fox Everyday Im Hustling Book Launch

When I’m not reading about fashion, I love brushing up on black history and self-help books, especially the ones that teach me how to hustle! I couldn’t miss Vivica A. Fox’s Everyday I’m Hustling Book Launch! The motivational memoir includes 18 lessons in 5 parts and I can’t wait to dive in. Learning about others’ triumphs and mishaps keeps you from making the mistakes they made so I attended the launch filled with excitement to learn about Vivica A. Fox’s inspiration and a bit more about her take on the entertainment industry.

The inspiration for Everyday I’m Hustling is to, “empower, enlighten and encourage all… not for women. Not for men. It’s for all”, said Vivica A. Fox. The motive for this book is to help people, “get out of their own way”.

When asked about the current climate of Hollywood with women such as Viola Davis speaking boldly about unequal pay in Hollywood, she responded saying, “I’m so lucky that my business partner is a woman. Lita Richardson who is always making sure that my contracts…that I get exactly what I’m supposed to and also my agent, Shiela Lashae also is a very strong woman. My team is all about girl power, making sure that we get equal pay, equal time, especially if we do more than the work.”

Vivica A. Fox wore a silver sequin Michael Kors dress and paired it with a clutch that was an exact replica of her book, Everyday I’m Hustling! Novelty clutches excite me so I’m loving it!

Amongst the guests was the lovely Ty Hunter who is a Fashion Director, Stylist, and Designer.

As for my look, I grabbed some Ankara fabric that I bought 2 years ago, cut it up and sewed this a couple of hours before the event.

I wanted a train but the weather was a bit gloomy so I kept it at ankle length.

I yearned for the high bun that used to be my staple so I took it back to my old favorite hairstyle and threw a silver accessory right in there.

Keeping it bright is always my option so cobalt blue heels and a hot pink clutch was just what I needed.

I ended the event with friends; old and new.
