When you hear of a powder that makes your makeup more luscious and matte than it is, it’s definitely worth a try! The Urban Decay Velvetizer is a transluscent mix in powder that is said to give your foundation a matte finish and also doubles as a finishing powder. I was a bit apprehensive because I tend to stay away from white powders due to a fear of it not cooperating with my dark skin tone. Either way, I still decided to give it a try and mixed it with the Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation.
Take a peek at my first impression above.
– The powder feels velvety smooth to the touch and it also leaves your skin feeling like velvet.
– It makes your foundation thicker than it’s normal consistency.
– My foundation stayed matte longer (great for oily skin) throughout the day.
– Great velvet packaging!
-Doesn’t make the skin more matte than a matte foundation.
I think in order to really see a difference with the Velvetizer, it is best used with a foundation that isn’t matte. I used the Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless foundation because it’s currently one of my faves and it’s never given me any problems, therefore I didn’t have anything to fix. This velvetizer is a fixer and is probably best used with a foundation that needs to be fixed. I wasn’t really impressed with my initial encounter but by the end of the day, I realized that my foundation stayed matte longer and kept my face from getting oily sooner.
