I recently had the opportunity to attend a masquerade. Unsure of what to wear, I slipped into a red evening gown. Although I prefer wearing sequins, it was such a hectic day (and week) that the red evening gown was the first thing I saw and figured it should work.
The golden braids are gone and I wanted a classic updo so I pulled out one of my old habits. 6-7 years ago, I used to wear my hair in a sideways updo. Growing out the relaxer in my hair led me to be a bit creative. It became one of my favorite hairstyles so I wore it all the time. I decided to do a braided (weave) updo with this dress that resembled the same shape and style that I used to be in love with so long ago.
The back detail of this dress added a bit of character (also persuaded me to wear it).
I had a bit of red overload (as usual) so grabbing a red and gold necklace was a no brainer.
These are my current go-to shoes of the season because of the comfortability which makes it perfect to wear for all the fun. I recently wore these Bagley Mischa goodies to a fundraiser and now this masquerade. I’m sure you’ll be seeing it again soon 🙂 .
This time of the year is filled with so many festivities and I feel so fortunate to be able to take part in gatherings such as a masquerade, surrounded by an immense amount of positive people who value life and appreciate the little things such as the benefits of having the luxury to inhale oxygen.
