In lieu of Valentine’s Day, I threw on a red pink jacket to commemorate the day of lovers. Valentine’s Day isn’t something that I make a big deal out of but any reason to wear colors that I love to wear the most is fine by me! It’s still Fashion Week so I spent the day swooning over John Paul Ataker, impressed by Anniesa Hasibuan, falling in love at Miguel Vieira and feeling the need to own all of The Blonds pieces in their FW17 collection.
This Jil Sander jacket is literally one of my favorite jackets! Although red is not one of my favorite colors, I love wearing it because of how great it compliments my skin tone. As for the pink, it’s the best color in the world so it’s a no-brainer.
Choosing to wear these colors on this day is actually a bit odd for me. When it comes to fashion and style, I usually subconsciously go against the grain, never caring to blend in as one can easily assume that a lot of people may opt for pink and red on V-day as well.
Sometimes when I wear red, I go a little overboard by monochroming. Sometimes, all it takes is one piece of apparel to inspire me to wear that same color for my whole look. That was definitely not the case for this look.
I added a bit of red to the look by including a red turtleneck and kept it bright by pairing it with white high waist pants.
Keeping my accessories minimal, I placed a gold choker around my neck, along with gold stud earrings.
I kept my shoes and bag pink as it complimented the jacket perfectly.
