I took a break from wearing eyeshadow a couple of years ago. It pretty much occurred subconsciously as a little break turned into becoming accustomed to not spending the extra time it takes to apply eyeshadow (especially all the hopes of the make up being properly blended). I became lazy. A blank eye was easy, simple and perfectly matches any lip color. Applying eyeshadow creates the challenge of making sure the eye compliments the lip. It takes more thought so I can understand why make up artists are called artists. It’s literally creating art. During the time that I wasn’t wearing eye shadow I still bought the palettes that caught my eye because I knew that I would be back at it again sooner or later. This look was created with palettes that I bought during those days.
I curated a two minute video showing how I created this look. Feel free to take a peek.
Infusing purple and orange is a bit reminiscent of the purple dusk.
Today’s look included the Smashbox palette as well as the Urban Decay “Smoked” palette. The Smashbox palette is no longer available but the Urban Decay Smoked palette is surprisingly available.
