During the winter, the warmer it is, the more you are able to play with different pieces to create a fab look. Ponchos can support warmth (ponchos made of wool/heavy fabric) or just be worn for style purposes (ponchos made of thinner fabric). With a poncho, you are able to change up the style if the winter sun gets too warm. There is something about the sun grazing my skin. It provides a bit of warmth and of course brightness that goes unnoticed during the winter because most people are so focused on the cold weather that they fail to acknowledge the sun which makes us feel just a bit warmer than we would without it. I had a hectic morning and afternoon but feeling the sun on my face as I headed out to partake in NYFW festivities made me feel much warmer than the previous day’s ten degree weather.
After missing the Sally LaPointe show which I absolutely wanted to attend because I love her designs, I had a bit of time to get some work done, then headed over to the Maybelline Lounge and spent the rest of my evening there.
I couldn’t go through NYFW without wearing a blanket poncho. It’s so cozy and comfortable and perfect for a day filled with work and a bit of play.
This is yet another slightly monochrome look which was easy breezy.
Blanket ponchos always look better with a belt that cinches the waist as it gives the poncho a great shape, thus elevating your poncho look.
