Happy Men’s Week! As womenswear is my first love, menswear comes second. As I headed out for Men’s Day, I threw on an embellished frock and headed over to Soho for Suit Supply which was my first stop of the day . My initial encounter of the collection was outside as the models rode bikes around the block. I captured the moment on snapchat (@queenoyinkan) and at that moment, I knew I have arrived at my destination.
I’m a sucker for embellishments so when I initially encountered this dress in L.A. two years ago, I knew I had to have it. I always hold on to pieces for a while, then pull them out much later. I love the non-fitted fit and even though I felt a bit warm because of the thick cotton, I didn’t mind. The lose fit brought me great comfort. It’s perfect.
After Suit Supply, I headed over to Industria Studios where I viewed several presentations. I began with Kramer & Stoudt, and I absolutely loved the various races that their models represented. Then went to Chapter, followed by Uri Minkoff which blew me away with their interpretive dance and ended with Rideau and their phenomenal prints.
Frocks are easy for the same reason jumpsuits are easy. One and done. No need to add any extra piece of clothing.
I accessorized with an embellished choker.
The rest of my accessories were subtle as I kept it light with a pastel and neutral bag along with a a pair of neutral heels.
