Anniesa Hasibuan does it again storming the NYFW runway, providing us with a collection topped off with hijabs yet embodied such rich fabrics filled with ruffles, sequins, gold and a whole lot of drama! The Anniesa Hasibuan FW17 collection entitled “Drama”, lives up to its name. The Indonesian muslim designer stuck to the high standard she presented last season as she made history by being the first designer to showcase a whole collection filled with hijabs at NYFW. I felt honored to be able to witness NYFW history, therefore, I was super excited to see what she had in store for this season.
She intrigued the guests by opening the show with ruffled jackets and presenting other ruffled pieces along the way.
Satin pants were paired with feathered skirts as the models glistened down the runway.
Wearing the silver hijabs with pride, makeup was provided by Wardah which is known to be a Halal friendly beauty brand.
Metallics and pleats were in the mix as she added more flare to her traditional roots.
I’ve always loved Anniesa’s collection because it’s the perfect example of a woman being fully covered up yet still exuding a bold powerful style!
